Defense of Property Crimes

Pennsylvania law carefully defines each type of property crime. Based on the definition of the particular charge you are facing, it may be possible get the charge dismissed or obtain a reduction of the charge to one with lesser potential penalties.

Our attorneys will closely examine the facts of your case, including video evidence and witness statements to see if your behavior does indeed meet the definition of the charge. In a number of cases we have used this approach to persuade a prosecutor to drop the charge or agree to an acceptable plea arrangement. If your decision is to fight the charge, Greenfield & Kraut will aggressively defend you at trial.

Alternatives to Conviction

Particularly in cases involving first-time offenses, there may be a number of programs available which can enable the offender to avoid conviction and a permanent criminal record. Under the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) program, the case is held in abeyance. The charge is dismissed after a period of time and the record of the arrest and outcome can be expunged.

Greenfield & Kraut has helped many people accused of property crimes obtain ARD and other diversion outcomes. If you qualify, our firm will try to obtain this type of outcome for you.
